lots of pics to load

Welcome to Pen's page!  Penelope is a purebred Pug.  Pen's been our best friend since we got her when she was only eight weeks old in 1993. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Update - February 22, 2007 - The past few days have been the most difficult days of our life after we were forced to accept that Pen's health problems could not be resolved.  The details are too painful to speak about.  We tried everything.  We both took time off work and spent every minute comforting Pen over the last several days, feeding her her favorite dishes and giving her lots of tummy rubs and affection.   Pen was showing signs of suffering and as such this morning Pen was put to sleep.   We held her as she passed quickly and peacefully.  No more suffering.  We are devastated.  Pen was incredibly important to us and we cannot imagine life without her.  We'll miss you Pen and we'll never forget you.  Sleep well little girl.

Update - October 31, 2006 - Pen is now 11 1/2 years old and still hanging in there.  Sadly, Pen received a puncture to one of here eyes and had to have it removed in late 2005.  She is almost blind now as her vision was poorest in the one eye remaining.  She also has some back problems and is dragging one rear paw somewhat.  Still she is happy and barks at us constantly when it is time to eat.  Pugs normally only live between 12 and 14 years old however Pen is still energetic with a big attitude so I think she'll be with us a little while longer.

When Pen isn't eating, she likes to do a lot of snoozin' with all of her friends.

When Pen was just a Puglet, she was imprisoned in our kitchen to prevent her from using the living room as her bathroom.

As an adult, Pen enjoys all the luxuries life can offer.  Apparently it still isn't enough.

"Just a bit more relaxing, then I'll go eat again."

Old "Blue Eye".

Pen enjoys plate lickin' whenever possible.

Pen sits where she can see all the action.

Pen's first swimming lesson at Moose Lake.

Just like a turtle coming out of it's shell, Pen awakens from an afternoon snooze.

Pen was doing some extra snoozin' after some recent dental work.

Pen snuggles with one of her best friends, the Monkey Bear.

Pen and the Monkey Bear watch yet another episode of Wild Kingdom.

Pen contemplates her new custom made mattress.

Sharing the luxury of Pen's new mattress are Mr. Moosehead and of course, the Monkey Bear, just to name a couple.

Just prior to a walk, Pen likes to load up.

Pen stares endlessly in an attempt to get more snacks.

The first update in 4 years!  It's September 2004.  Pen is still with us, enjoying life to its fullest!

After years of pampering, Pen's tongue hangs out all of the time now.

Pen finds these special positions where she can rub her paw on the blanket and veg.
